Lombardy Region will be at MIPIM in Cannes with 28 real estate development projects

Several municipalities with their projects will participate, together with Lombardy Region, in MIPIM 2020, one of the most prestigious real estate exhibition that will be held at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes from 10th to 13th March.

2019 has been a record year for the Italian commercial real estate, with over 12 billion of investments in the territory, which is considered the fourth largest economy in Europe in the sector. The positive trend involves various asset classes, from the offices, that accounted for 40% of transactions last year, up to hotels (26%), which for the first time reached 3.3 billion of investments, but with expectations (CBRE) of Capex investments of 50 billion over the next ten years. The share of the logistics sector was also high (11%).

Lombardy stands out in the ranking, with an amount of 11 billion euros invested in real estate in Milan in the last 3 years, of which 70% by foreign institutional investors.

On the wave of these positive trend, Regione Lombardia, together with Unioncamere Lombardia, has selected 28 real estate development projects from 26 municipalities.

The projects, which range from the redevelopment of urban areas to the renovation of historic buildings, from the regeneration of former industrial realities to the design of Student Housing and Senior Living, will be presented, together with the AttrACT program, to international investors present at MIPIM 2020 within the Italian Pavillion,

Among the projects selected, Lombardy region presents the redevelopment of the “Ex-Ticosa” in the municipalities of Como, and Mantua with the urban regeneration project “Mantova Hub”. Furthermore, the restructuring of the Ex Cotonificio Cantoni and the Ex Collegio Giglio in the Municipality of Bellano are 2 examples of considerable historical importance. The redevelopment of the area of Desenzano del Garda castle and the Grand Hotel San Pellegrino Terme in the Municipality of San Pellegrino Terme will be reserved for tourist accommodation facilities, as well as the re-use of historic houses belonging to the Gonzaga’s family: Villa del Serraglio, with an adjoining park overlooking the lake, in the Municipality of Toscolano Maderno and Villa Guerrieri Gonzaga in the Municipality of Sustinente, which will host the creation of MASP (Mantua Agriculture Sustainability Project), a training, innovation and agricultural experimentation center for businesses and associations.

Reflecting the trends of the real estate sector, senior and student housing projects will be presented by the Municipalities of Sant’Alessio con Vialone, with a Biovillage for over 65 with the possibility of adding student residences, by Cisano Bergamasco with the “Domus Colombera”, a multifunctional project with residences for the elderly and by the Municipality of Torre de’ Busi with the “Borgo Nuovo”, which will have residential purposes including Senior Housing.
